Departing from Rivesaltes station, set off on the Grand Parcours du Train Rouge, passing through the different villages on the line and making a stopover to visit the Château de Puilaurens!

With a special stop at Lapradelle Puilaurens station, we are waiting for you to board a free shuttle which takes you to the bottom of the Château. On presentation of your train ticket you benefit from a preferential rate to visit this majestic Château with comments from your guide (in French). After the visit, the shuttle will take you back to Axat station so that you can enjoy the route in the Pierre Lys gorges.

Built in the 13th century on a rocky promontory, providing a strategic position to control the surrounding roads. The architecture of the Castle is typical of medieval fortresses. It is surrounded by imposing ramparts with several watchtowers. Inside you can find remains of the old chapel, as well as living rooms and storage spaces.

Warning: bring good shoes because the access path to the castle is steep (no strollers, not recommended for children under 5 years old), a hat, sunscreen, water, your picnic and make sure you take care get off the train at Lapadelle-Puilaurens station. Places limited to 22 people for this tailor-made visit. Possibility of leaving from St-Paul de Fenouillet station.
